DIRECTOR

Jan has worked in the legal profession for over 30 years, initially as a legal secretary before qualifying as a lawyer.

She has extensive experience in property and commercial matters, spending time in big city firms and in a boutique entertainment law firm.

Her warm, straightforward approach is highly regarded by her clients, many of who have travelled with her throughout her career.

There is a secret belief in the office that she founded Mac & Co so she finally had a dog-friendly workplace and Elinor could join her each day. (You’ll meet Ellie when you come into our offices). Jan is slowly learning French so she can improve her appreciation of French wine and food.

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

When Mac & Co acquired Rob Webber & Associates, it was our good fortune that Donna joined our team after working with Rob for over 5 years.

Donna is a respected, trusted adviser guiding clients on complex legal matters in a pragmatic and thoughtful way. Donna has a BA/LLB from Auckland University and has been practising for over 20 years providing general legal advice including commercial conveyancing, leases, residential conveyancing, estates, and trusts.

Donna has two wonderful children that keep her life very busy outside of the office.

SOLICITOR

Fiona holds a BA/LLB from Victoria University. She has a broad range of experience in legal practice including working at a boutique property law firm, within an in-house legal team and, earlier in her career, in civil and commercial litigation at city firms. After several years working outside law, including in the book publishing and learning and development fields, Fiona brings a fresh perspective to helping clients navigate their legal matters. She’s very happy to be part of the warm and welcoming team at Mac & Co.

Outside of work, Fiona is mum to two young kids and enjoys swimming, practising yoga and getting into the garden. And her love of literature ensures she always has a book or two on the go.

LEGAL EXECUTIVE

Kayla's excellent administration skills and her warm, straightforward style are valuable assets to the property team at Mac & Co. She helps keep us in order in her quiet and friendly way, always going the extra mile to ensure we produce the best results for our clients.

Kayla has a Bachelor of Arts in History, Film, Television & Media Studies from the University of Auckland. Before coming to Mac & Co, she worked as a receptionist for a law firm in the city and spent time traveling in Europe.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and socialising with friends and family over good food and wine.

LEGAL EXECUTIVE/SECRETARY

Evita previously worked for a boutique law firm in Auckland and enjoyed some time overseas with her family prior to joining Mac&Co. She has a Diploma in Conveyancing and takes pride in supporting both our Team and clients through the conveyancing process.

In her spare time, Evita enjoys travelling, staying active and exploring the outdoors, as well as spending quality time with family and friends.

ASSISTANT PRACTICE MANAGER

DIRECTOR

A graduate of Otago University, Zoe has worked in boutique law firms in Auckland, developing a strong background in residential and commercial property transactions, leasing, business acquisitions, and subdivision development.

In addition, Zoe has experience in trust formation work, asset protection, and estate planning and administration. She enjoys getting to know her clients and building long-term relationships that lead to the best possible advice.

After hours, Zoe is committed to nurturing her relationships with friends and family. She plays a mean game of touch rugby and works hard at chasing her fitness goals at the gym. This is a good thing, as Zoe’s other loves are good food and wine with a favourite night out cited as trying out a new restaurant!

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Marnie has been practising law for over 16 years and has gained invaluable experience working across small, medium and large law firms developing a background in residential and commercial property transactions, leasing, business acquisitions, relationship property, estate planning, trusts, enduring powers of attorney & wills. Marnie particularly enjoys the variety of general practice and getting to know her clients and providing sensible, pragmatic advice. She is delighted to be working as part of the close-knit team at Mac & Co.

Marnie enjoys keeping fit at the gym, doing yoga and spending time with her friends and family.

SOLICITOR

Toby joined us after completing his LLB/Art at University of Auckland.

In his free time he enjoys catching up with friends and family, travelling, and staying active.

LEGAL EXECUTIVE/SECRETARY

Yashna initially joined the Mac&Co team as a receptionist. She has since gained her Legal Executive Certificate and is now providing valuable secretarial and legal executive assistance to the lawyers in our firm.

PRACTICE MANAGER

Jos has worked in the legal profession for many years in various roles including legal secretary, legal executive, and in more recent years, practice manager. She is a qualified Legal Executive as well as holding a New Zealand Diploma in Business (Accounting).

Jos has a keen interest in technology and its utilisation as one of the tools to maximise productivity and efficiency, particularly in a busy law firm such as Mac & Co.

Jos enjoys walking, travelling and is an avid sports fan - tennis, netball and rugby being the firm favourites.

LEGAL SECRETARY

Mia has a BA in History and Sociology and has previously worked as an Administration Assistant at a non-profit organisation providing therapy to women. Mia is now working towards gaining a Legal Executive Certificate.

In her spare time, Mia enjoys staying active and spending quality time with friends.

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Anne has been in practice for over 20 years and has experience in both residential and commercial property, trusts, estates, and wills. She also provides general commercial advice for private and corporate clients.

After practising within a large law firm for many years, Anne now thrives as a part of the close-knit team at Mac & Co. She provides sensible advice, gets on well with clients, and like her favourite Black Caps, gives her A-game every day.

LEGAL EXECUTIVE/ASSOCIATE

While Kelly has enjoyed working in major firms in both Christchurch and Auckland, she’s mightily pleased to have opted for the boutique friendliness and teamwork of Mac&Co. She also confesses to a soft spot for Elinor, the office’s resident Jack Russell, and her fantastic clients.

As a property specialist, Kelly’s skills in subdivisions and settlements are extraordinary; it makes her a real asset to the Mac & Co. legal team.

 Kelly is also a skilled equestrian extraordinaire although - despite our love of pets - her horse doesn’t join her at the office.

SOLICITOR

Bianca graduated with an LLB/BA from Victoria University after which she spent some time travelling before starting her legal career with Mac & Co.

Bianca loves playing team sports. Netball has long been a favourite and she also enjoys social football and is planning to compete in the next Melbourne Marathon. Other activities she looks forward to are book club once a month, cooking new recipes and making jewellery for her friends.

LEGAL EXECUTIVE

Karli joined Mac & Co after working at a specialist law firm in the CBD. Karli is a qualified Legal Executive, after graduating in early 2024.

Karli has travelled around the globe, finally settling in the sunny Hibiscus Coast.

Karli is currently on parental leave.

TRUST ACCOUNTANT

Jane was part of the Mac & Co team in the early years of the firm’s inception and has re-joined us after working in various law firms as a trust accountant. Jane’s expert knowledge of trust accounting and legal office procedures provide valuable assistance to both clients and fellow team members.

Outside the office, Jane appreciates good food & wine, dining at many of Auckland’s excellent restaurants with friends or with a well-stocked wine fridge at home. Family plays an important part in her life and she can often be found relaxing at her family bach at Hahei in the Coromandel.

RECEPTIONIST/LEGAL SECRETARY

Kayla is the friendly voice you hear when your call or visit our office. Her calm manner and can-do attitude makes her an integral part of our team.

Kayla has a Bachelor of Commerce and plans to work towards her Legal Executive Certificate. Outside of work she enjoys discovering new cafes and restaurants with friends and spending time with her family and her dog in the Bay of Plenty.

PROFESSIONAL TRUSTEE CONSULTANT

Rob’s firm (Rob Webber & Associates) was merged into Mac & Co in April 2019. Rob had a large client base, some of which he had been acting for over the last 40 years, and Mac & Co is honoured to take on the responsibility of looking after Rob's clients.

Rob is now a professional trustee consultant for some of our clients and is enjoying his retirement in the sunny north.
